NZIS qualifications are internationally recognised through NZ Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) which has a portability agreement in place with International Confederation of Registers for Exercise Professionals (ICREPs). This means your qualification will be recognised in over 30 countries. REPs also has a partnership with the Asian Academy of Sport and Fitness Professionals (AASFP) in Asia.
What can I study?
NZIS offers qualifications to prepare students from all over the world for careers in Sport, Fitness and Recreation. International students meeting our enrolment criteria are eligible to participate in NZIS tertiary education and industry training programmes. We have the following three programmes for international students:
- Diploma in Sport, Recreation, & Exercise (Multi-Sector) (Level 5)
- Diploma in Sport, Recreation, & Exercise (Multi-Sector) (Level 6)
Study the Level 6 Diploma in these locations:
- Auckland: Delivering Sport Management Elective only
- Wellington: Delivering both Sport Management and Human Performance Electives
- Christchurch: Delivering Human Performance Elective only

The New Zealand Government has imposed an international student levy on tuition and course related fees. From 1 January 2019 the levy will be 0.89% of the compulsory tuition fees.
In addition to enjoying the option of a New Zealand homestay, International students participate in the full programme of activities for their chosen programme, including sporting competitions, camps and work experience.
