You’ll be able to gain a broad-based knowledge and skills needed to enter the sport, recreation and exercise industries and have fun doing it.
Our sports and recreation course will give you the tools you need to build your life and leadership skills while you learn more about sport and fitness.
There will be plenty of practical opportunities for you to enhance your technical skills and learn outside the classroom. You’ll get to develop exercise programmes, learn about personal fitness and growth.
You’ll learn the essentials of planning a successful sport event, basic sport nutrition, coaching techniques and grow your understanding of health and wellness for athletes in an exciting and interactive learning approach.

During this course you will:
Develop exercise programmes

Be physically fit, health screening and pass a health screening (where required)
Meet the minimum requirements of the NZIS placement assessment or have NZQF Level 2 or equivalent.
