Graham Lowe Certificate in Foundation Skills
Aged 16-19, into sports and need some life skills?
Legendary rugby league coach and Kiwi icon Graham Lowe has developed a FREE common-sense Foundation Skills course for 16s to 19s. Considered a game-changer, with engaging, relevant and fun classes, the programme aims to change people’s lives through education and sport.
Over 18 weeks, students will learn within first class training facilities, with high level coaches, educators and athletic performance specialists. This life skills course offers Literacy and Numeracy credits and opens up opportunities for more study at Level 2 and Level 3 in sport and health with us at NZIS, or with other tertiary providers in other fields.
The programme has four modules
- Literacy Skills
- Numeracy Skills
- Intro to Sport and Recreation
- Life Skills
Job Opportunities & Pathways
Students will be able to progress to further study within NZIS by completing our full Level 2 SportsZone program, or our Level 3 Certificate in Sport Studies. The foundation skills learned through our Level 2 and Level 3 programmes of study will then fully prepare students for Tertiary study in one of our very popular Diploma in Sport programmes.
Students will also be set up to continue studying in other areas with other educators if they want to study outside of health and fitness.
Also importantly, students will have learned to contribute effectively within their whānau and wider community, meaning they will be better set up to go into a work environment.
