Love sport? Our foundation course is the best starting point to get an introduction into the sport, recreations and fitness industries. Free* for 16-24 year olds.

 

In this action-packed foundation course, you’ll get to meet others who love sport just like you. We’ll help build your confidence in preparing you with study skills, work-readiness, and self-management in a fun and supportive environment.  

You won’t be stuck in a classroom all day! You’ll be busy working with your hands, learning outdoors, in our on-site campus gyms and one on one with your tutors.  

You’ll get to go on field trips, learn about diverse cultures and have a sense of self by working on a community project, giving you a chance to give back to the community around us.  

Our Level 2 foundation course will help you gain entry to any of our Level 3 courses. 

 

During this course you will:

  • Explore what you can study next 

  • Start preparations to become work ready 

  • Learn how to write your own CV 

  • Develop self-management skills 

  • Build your confidence 

  • Take part in a community project 

  • Learn about different cultures 

  • Get to tailor to your learning styles

  • Aged at least 16 years old before the start of the course.*

  • You must be a New Zealand citizen or have New Zealand permanent residency 

*15 year olds who hold Ministry-approved early exemption from their school may also be eligible. This exemption must be in place before the course starts.

YOUTH GUARANTEE 

You can attend this course for free if you are aged 16-24 and meet the course entry requirements. This course is part of the government led Youth Guarantee Programme.  

Under the Youth Guarantee you may also be eligible for financial support to cover the following. Talk to us for more information.

FEES FREE
