What you will learn

Sports, Fitness & Recreation (Level 2)

  • Demonstrate knowledge of time management Demonstrate, instruct and monitor static stretching Demonstrate, instruct and monitor correct use of cardiovascular exercise equipment
  • Participate in a team or group which has an objective
  • Communication with people from other cultures Demonstrate correct techniques when using basic gym equipment
  • Demonstrate knowledge of basic skills at a beginners level for sport
  • Describe benefits of participation in recreation in the local community.

Sports, Coaching & Officiating (Level 3)

  • Demonstrate knowledge of injury prevention and risk and injury management in sport and recreation
  • Plan a beginner level coaching session for sport participants
  • Conduct and review a beginner level coach session
  • Apply sport rules and regulations while officiating in a competitive sports event.


Course Costs

$500 + GST per student


Both courses will run every school holiday break and can be personalised to suit the groups attending.

Entry requirements

  • Must be currently studying at secondary school
  • Year 12 students are eligible to join the Level 2 Gateway programme
  • Year 13 students are eligible to join the Level 3 Gateway programme.
