7 February 2019 – Staff from the New Zealand Institute of Sport (NZIS) and CLM Community Sport will be available to talk to youth about career opportunities in the Health, Sport, Police, Defence, plus Fitness and Recreation industries in South Auckland locations through February and March.
Willie Maea, NZIS Northern Regional Manager said, “NZIS are attending the CLM events where we will offer alongside the many sports in the community opportunities for young people to hear and discuss the exciting new course offerings NZIS have this year. Staff will be on hand to chat and utilise practical learning tools used in class”.
NZIS offers FREE Level 2 and 3 programmes through to Level 5 and 6 Diplomas; training youth for careers such as a Personal Trainer, Police Officer, Community Sports Manager and more.
Together with CLM Community Sport, NZIS will support youth as they participate in team drills, rugby games and more run by local sports clubs, along with a free barbeque for friends and families.
Willie added, “This is about engaging with our young people and showing them there are options for their futures in health, fitness, sport and recreation. There’s so much on offer, and we are here to talk!”
