The New Zealand Institute of Sport would like to welcome all prospective and current Maori and Pacific Island students into the fold.
Our Commitment to Maori & Pacific Students
We strongly encourage our students to maintain and celebrate their culture and identity while they study with us at NZIS. Our student population over our three campuses has a diverse mix of cultures and we are a niche provider catering specifically for Pacific and Maori students, in terms of teaching methodology, guidance and support.
Our Mission Statement encompasses our commitment to this group of students; we aim to provide an effective and culturally relevant learning environment which meets the needs of the individual, industry and the wider community with a commitment to Pacific and Maori students.
We are proud to help organize and support Pasifika events, such as Pacifically Wellington, which has been running successfully since 2002. The aim with these events is to raise the awareness of opportunities available to all and to actively engage with Pacific families and the wider community.
We have a number of NZIS scholarships available across the three campuses that students may apply for.
We have a specialised student support network to ensure the needs of all our students are met. We have guidance and support leaders for Pacific and Maori students at all three campuses.
